The Pygmy press is a bench-top model designed for those who have no space for the full-size model and who are usually working with small to medium sized formats.
It will do almost everything that its bigger sibling, the Piccadilly does, yet it’s small enough to go on or under a workbench – or even in the back of your car.

It is both compact and capable, being the smallest it can be while still being able to hold for rounding and backing, sanding and ploughing a book of up to A4 size either vertically or horizontally.

It is calibrated so that the steel-edged backing boards meet together perfectly each time and are located into the cheeks by stainless steel pegs, so that you can have one hand on the handwheel and one hand on your book as you prepare for rounding and backing, etc.

The plough is a delight to use with a hardened carbon steel blade that has a rounded 15° bevel that is razor sharp and holds an edge well.
